Item Description

A classic display specimen of Atacamite from the type locality for the species. This is an old specimen (approximately 50 years) and is loaded with dozens of sparkling, almost wet-looking, rich emerald green, rather gemmy, thin bladed crystals on matrix. The piece is associated with minor Malachite and Chrysocolla as well. A great, colorful "old time" specimen of this beloved Copper Hydroxyhalide. Pieces of this size and quality are not easy to find on the market anymore - from the older finds - so don't miss out on this colorfull and richly covered specimen. From the collection of Colorad geologist, Allen V. Heyl, for whom the species Aheylite was named.
