Item Description

This is the only specimen of this material that I've seen. It features green Atacamite in slag from Stamford Harbor, CT. I can only find a small amount of information about this area, but an article by Bill Henderson was written in a 1967 issue of Rocks and Minerals entitled "A Copper Analog of Laurium, Greece". Some bit of the article are rewritten on mindat at this link http://www.mindat.org/loc-238766.html From the collection of Allen Heyl a Colorado geologist and the namesake for Aheylite. The piece comes with a label from Allen's collection, along with an old Rocksmiths label from the collection of Roger and Peg Marble.
