Item Description

The La Farola Mine in Chile is one of the premier localities for Atacamite, producing a good number of fine specimens with excellent crystals. This piece is a wonderful example of said material featuring dozens of deep emerald green colored thin prismatic crystals on matrix. The largest cluster on the top of the specimen measures 1.0 cm across, but individual crystals are more in the 4 mm range. Upon close inspection, the crystals are beautiful with good internal gemminess and that intense color that is a signature of the species. These are true classics, some of the most recognizable minerals, not just from Chile, but any world locality.
