Item Description

Atacamite is very rare from this very obscure Nevada mine and is rare from any Nevada locality. This rich and rare large two-sided copper ore specimen features rich fields on the front of tiny gemmy emerald-green and coated atacamite crystals on the quartz matrix. Some blue-green chrysocolla is noted on the front and the back is nearly covered with chrysocolla crusts. Rare combination material from the Kay Robertson Collection # 11069. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
