Item Description

Please note, this specimen came with a label from well-known and recently deceased New York dealer Larry Conklin as coming from the Greenbushes Mine in Western Australia. The only problem with this is that the Greenbushes Mine is a large lithium mine, and from what I can gather, doesn't seem to have any copper minerals (see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Greenbushes_mine ). My gut feeling is that the piece is from the Mount Gunson Copper mines. I'm leaving it simply labeled as "Australia" for now, unless somebody can confirm for certain that this is a Mount Gunson piece. This specimen features incredibly rich forest/emerald green, sparkling aggregates of fine quality Atacamite. It's best viewed with a loupe or even better a microscope. I found all sort of superb tiny crystals all over the place in no time. Great quality and hard to find on the market now, so don't miss out.
