Item Description

Astrophyllite is an uncommon complex silicate with titanium and is found in nepheline-syenite pegmatites. An impressive textbook starburst of lustrous, micaceous, bronze-yellow blades to 8.0 is aesthetically set in the large pegmatite matrix. Such rich and excellent large examples are RARE from this well-known New Hampshire locale. This showy rarity displays well without aid. Older material from the Paterson Museum Collection, where it was on display. A MUST for the locality or species collector.
