As-bearing Vanadinite ("Endlichite") (ex Leigh Price Collection)

If you look through old collections, the name "Endlichite" will appear on old labels. It was actually a valid species for years, but it's now classified as an arsenic-bearing variety of Vanadinite. This lovely three-dimensional thumbnail specimen hosts many classic, deep golden-bronze colored, almost metallic looking, sharp, well-formed, lustrous, hexagonal, prismatic crystals of "Endlichite" measuring up to 1.4 cm long and free of matrix. The crystals show pronounced skeletal growth, and some are essentially hollow in the center. As you can see, many of the crystals are actually doubly-terminated and have a very slight curvature to them. The piece is very three-dimensional, and good quality on the display side. There are some small contacts, but it's in good condition overall. I have not seen anything in way of these specimens (except in old collections), and every good Mexican collection, should have a nice "Endlichite" like this in them.
