Item Description
A really cool artifact in the form of a lingam from Mogok, Myanmar. In Sanskrit, the term lingam means "distinguishing symbol", and these kind of objects are found all over Asia in various cultures. The piece is carved from solid rock/stone, with a small bale at the top, presumably so it could be worn around the neck. The piece weighs 81.2 grams. A really cool piece reflecting the beautiful culture of Myanmar. It's impossible to put a value on something like this since it's a completely unique, handmade, antique artifact, but I can safely say that you may never see another like it, so this may be your only chance to get one like it. From the collection of Bill Larson of Fallbrook, California. Bill is a well-known gem and mineral dealer as well as a miner and collector. Bill is synonymous with minerals of San Diego County, and owned and operated famous mines such as the Stewart Lithia, the Tourmaline Queen, the Pala Chief and the Himalaya, producing some of the most iconic mineral specimens to come out of the area during the 1970s-1980s. Bill is also known as "Burma Bill" and traveled the world for decades in search of fine gems and minerals, and was directly involved in the in-person acquisition and importation of superb specimens and stones from Myanmar (Burma).
