Arsentsumebite (TYPE LOCALITY) and Azurite

This miniature is rich in light-green Arsentsumebite, for which the great Tsumeb Mine is the TYPE LOCALITY. The Arsentsumebnite is almost sponge-like in its growth, and it is interwoven with deep blue Azurite. Rising up from the Arsentumebite is a lustrous and striated, 1 cm Azurite crystal, adding a bit of drama to this piece. The contrast between the grren and the lustrous deep blue creates a very nice eye-appeal. Arsentsumebite is extremely rare and rich specimens are uncommon, usually old pieces. This is likely from the earlier levels of the mine, early 1900s or late 1800s.
