Item Description
About 30 years ago, there were a handful of very good quality Arsenopyrite specimens on the market from the San Jose mine, but they all seemed to have dried up. This is one of the more attractive and interesting specimens of this material that I have offered for sale because not only does it feature excellent quality small, sharp, bright, prismatic Arsenopyrite crystals but there are also unique and eye-catchig pseudomorphs of golden Pyrite replacing pseudohexagonal Pyrrhotite plus the super rare sulfosalts Franckeite on matrix! The largest Arsenopyrite crystal measures 5 mm in length. A great association specimen of this now hard to find material. If you're a Bolivian mineral collector, this is a great opportunity to pick up something that is virtually impossible to find on the market. This piece was mined in 1980 and is a great example of this old material from one of the most famous mines in the Bolivian tin belt.
