Item Description
A beautiful combo specimen from this famous deposit in Inner Mongolia featuring attractive, razor-sharp, highly lustrous, silvery-white colored monoclinic crystals of Arsenopyrite measuring up to 7 mm, which are intermixed with "feathery" groups of thin, bladed, metallic grey colored Löllingite. We found a few TINY soft pinkish colored, tetrahedral Helvine crystals on the piece as well, confirming that this specimen is certainly from the Huanggang Deposit, as the color is a perfect match. Arsenopyrite and Löllingite share some chemistry as Arsenopyrite is iron arsenic sulfide, and Löllingite is iron arsenide (no sulfur content), so it makes sense that they would form together, but these are still quite rare from this locality. Very little damage and quite attractive up close.
