Arsenopyrite w/ Siderite (excellent) ex Schlichter Coll.

Item Description

The recent finds of arsenopyrite from the well-known Yaogangxian Mine of China compare favorably with the best in the world. This is a superbly crystallized and excellent plate with several, striking, triangular, splendent, arsenopyrite crystals set amongst translucent rosettes of tan siderite blades. The two striking arsenopyrites, to 2.6 cm, are doubly terminated and have fabulous stepped-growth faces. Overall, the piece is in super condition, with the back end of the upright arsenopyrite being partially contacted. This is a very fine arsenopyrite specimen and is from the Ernie and Vera Schlichter Collection.
