Item Description

This is the first specimen of Arsenopyrite that we've ever had to offer from this area. It is labeled as coming from the "Tannenbergsthal Mine", but the species reported from the Tannenberg Mine and from Tannenbergsthal which are both in Vogtland. With that said, the piece features a coverage of good quality, sharp, metallic, silvery-grey colored crystals of Arsenopyrite measuring up to 7 mm sitting on host rock matrix. Most of the crystals are in excellent condition, but the piece is undertanably contacted around the periphery where it was removed from the pocket wall. If you collect sulfides or minerals from Germany, this is a great rare locality specimen to add to your collection. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#12435). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
