Item Description

A stunning combination specimen for this classic locality with no less than 6 species. Splendent sharp silver-metallic, well-striated, tapered arsenopyrite crystals, to 3.5 cm, are dramatically set jackstraw-style on the matrix of this impressive and excellent two-sided combination "rib" from the famous Panasqueira Mine. The front also hosts scattered hexagonal fluorapatite crystals, tiny calcite rhombs and rich beds of tiny pearlescent rosettes of muscovite blades. The back is of the rib is decidedly different, as the 3-dimensional surface is nearly totally covered with clusters of gray to colorless nailhead calcite rhombs. The calcites have nearly engulfed a row of four glassy quartz crystals. The Art Soregaroli label also lists tourmaline, which are probably the tiny hair-like masses scattered on the front of piece on the muscovite. A classic, very showy and excellent two-sided combintion from this famed locale. MUCH, MUCH BETTER IN PERSON, as the high luster of these superb arsenopyrite xls made photography difficult. valued $750
