Item Description

Mineral specimens are very uncommon from this obscure South Dakota lead mine, started in the mid-1960s (MINDAT). This is a rare and and actually aesthetic two-sided pseudomorph of arsenopyrite after sharp tabular pyrrhotite crystals. The striking cluster of sharp pseudos at the top, to 1.6 cm, is the highlight. Also, most crystal faces are have a matte finish, but preferentially all faces on one side are sparkly. This is a very fine and rare pseudo from the Richard Hauck Collection.
