Arsenopyrite on Sphalerite (fine quality)

Item Description

A very attractive association specimen from the contemporary powerhouse locality, the Huanggang Deposit in Inner Mongolia, China. This showy small cabinet piece features a beautiful silvery metallic cluster of Arsenopyrite comprising dozens of sharp, euhedral, well-formed crystals that is aesthetically flaring off of black Sphalerite matrix. I can't find any damage on the top/display piece of the piece, and I just love how the Arseno group is so perfectly positioned on the Sphalerite. For a sulfide association piece, this is really good quality and certainly eye-catching. These are not nearly as common on the market as they were a few years ago, and this is a good one by any standard. Valued $1,500.
