Item Description
About 35 years ago, there were a handful of very good quality Arsenopyrite specimens on the market from the San Jose mine, but they all seemed to have dried up. This is one of the last specimens of this material that I have to offer for sale. It hosts many sharp, highly lustrous, bright silvery colored prismatic crystals up to 7 mm sitting on Pyrite matrix and associated associated with matte grey "needles" of Jamesonite. This piece was mined in 1980 and is a great example of this old material from one of the most famous mines in the Bolivian tin belt. Arguably one of the better pieces of this material that I've offered in the auctions.
