Item Description

About 30 years ago, there were a handful of very good quality Arsenopyrite specimens on the market from the San Jose mine, but they all seemed to have dried up. This is one of the last specimens of this material that I have offered for sale. Several very sharp, highly lustrous, bright silvery colored intergrown crystals up to 9 mm associated with matte grey "needles" of Jamesonite aesthetically sitting on matrix. This piece was mined in 1980 and is a great example of this old material from one of the most famous mines in the Bolivian tin belt. Arguably the best miniature of this material that I've offered in the auctions.
