Item Description

A showy and fine quality large miniature / small cabinet sized specimen of Arsenopyrite from the famed Freiberg area in Germany. The crystals are incredibly sharp, highly lustrous, and show a brilliant metallic silvery hue, which measure up to 2.1 cm across, sitting on Quartz matrix. The piece is in great condition, with no major damage, only a bit of peripheral roughness. This important historic locality has produced some iconic mineral specimens, and this particular piece is a choice example of these wonderful Arsenopyrites. The crystals are larger than average for Freiberg, and the quality is as good as it gets.
The piece is from the collection of Brian Kosnar.
