Item Description

Arsenopyrites from this obscure, older Chihuahua mining district compare with the very best from other Mexican locales, China or Europe. A striking, sharp, 3.8 x 2.8 cm, splendent, metallic-silver, platy, arsenopyrite crystal is surrounded by more arsenopyrites, a bed of quartz crystals and small tan calcite rhombs which are richly overgrown with spherical aggregates of either brown, flattened calcite or siderite rhombs. This is a very rare and excellent combination from this uncommon locale. Ex Robert Whitmore Collection.
