Arsenopyrite

Impressive, large, sharp, 7.7 cm, pseudo-octahedral, compound arsenopyrite crystal dominates this sculptural and aesthetic small cabinet of solid arsenopyrite from the famed Yaogangxian Mine. The crystal faces have striking, golden-silvery luster under bright light and are metallic-gray under normal light. The two smaller arsenopyrites with classic cogwheel faces are fine complements and accessories. Contacting on the back is out-of-sight in the fine display views. Ex Kurt Hefendehl Collection, a well-known German collector who amassed a world-wide collection of over 6000 pieces. Yaogangxian arsenopyrites are some of the world's finest examples of the species and this is an excellent example.
