Item Description

Arsenolite is one of the many oxides of As, Sb, and Bi out there and gets is name based upon its chemistry. The mineral a dimorph of monoclinic Claudetite and isostructural with the antimony oxide, Senarmontite. This material can range in color from white to red / yellow (based upon realgar or orpiment inclusions) and even a bluish hue. Under magnification, one can see small octahedral crystals of white to colorless Arsenolite with associated metallic blood red Proustite, and another light blue mineral that COULD be more Arsenolite, or one of the various copper bearing species from Svornost. A great rarity to add to your collection. Specimens of this material are few and far between to be sure! This piece is the only one of these specimens that we have to offer, and comes with a classic label from Josef Vajdak / Pequa Rare Minerals, which immediately increases the value.
