Item Description

A rare and rich old-timer from this historic mining district. Bone-white botryoids and radial clusters of gray arsenolite crystals richly cover the arsenic-rich sulfide matrix on this fine specimen of this arsenic oxide. The back has tiny realgar and orpiment crystals. RARE on the market in this old-time quality. From an East Coast collection and comes with a James Gregory label dating from 1862-66! (one of the principal London mineral dealers in the last half of the 1800s) and a Hugh Ford label dating from 1946-57. Not pretty to look at, but a significant and rare old-timer from a renowned locale. A MUST for the species or locality collector. NOTE: toxic, so do not eat it!
