Item Description

Armenite is exceptionally uncommon, especially in good euhedral crystals of any size. This piece has glassy, lustrous, white crystals of Armenite to 8 mm on matrix of smaller crystals. There are actually two colors of moderate fluoresence, indicating either two generations of Armenite growth, or perhaps an associated mineral blending in. This is a rare hydrated, barium, calcium, aluminum silicate from the famous Simplon Pass, in Switzerland. A large specimen of the species, valued $2000
