Item Description
aegirine from this remote locality has set new standards for the species. However, the rarer mineral arfvedsonite is also found here, as dark green crystals of a different habit and style. Here, we have a unique specimen where the large tabular doubly terminated crystal of aegirine has been partially pseudomorphed (replaced) by green arfvedsonite, while preserving the original crystal form of the aegirine. The pristine terminations are heavily etched and partially hollow, adding pizzazz. The pseudo is aesthetically perched on a sliver of feldspar. A very fine and uncommon pseudomorph.
