Aragonite with Sauconite (RARE locality specimen)

While Aragonite is not a rare species worldwide, it is quite difficult to get your hands on a good crystallized specimen from Sterling Hill. I've only seen a handful of them over the years, and they are prized by Franklin collectors. This small cabinet specimen is loaded with sharp, lustrous, gemmy to translucent, white / colorless, thin prismatic crystals of Aragonite measuring up to 3.3 cm long sitting on a very thin layer of black matrix. The piece is accompanied by a label from noted Franklin mineral dealers Ewald and Helen Gerstmann, that states the brown mineral associated on the specimen is Sauconite, a very rare hydrated sodium, zinc, aluminum silicate. I have never seen a specimen of Aragonite with Sauconite like this before. If you collect Franklin minerals, this is a showy and good quality display specimen of this rare and eye-catching material with a very hard to find associated species.
