Item Description
Tarnowitzite, the plumboan variety of aragonite, is rare world-wide (the best come from Tsumeb) and is SUPER RARE from mines in the Viburnum Trend of Missouri. MINDAT does not list the variety and only lists very rare aragonite from the Brushy Creek Mine. Classic, hexagonal translucent creamy barrels, to 1.3 cm (many doubly terminated) cover the front of the large hefty matrix of mostly microcrystalline marcasite with some RARE tiny dolomite rhombs. Specimens from the Magmont Mine, active from 1968 to 1994, are uncommon. This perhaps UNIQUE rarity is from the collection of well-known and respected Missouri dealer, Dr. Gary Hanson. Value???
