Item Description

Sharply terminated, porcelaneous aragonite variety tarnowitzite crystals are very aesthetically clustered on the vuggy matrix and are nicely accented with grass-green copper oxides on this excellent specimen from Toussit. This Pb-rich varietal is very uncommon from here. The cyclically-twinned crystals, to 2.8 cm, form pseudo-hexagonal crystal aggregates. The piece displays very well without aid. This superb and aesthetic specimen could easily be confused with Tsumeb material - but it is actually more rare, and less seldom seen. If Tsumeb, ironically, it would be priced higher because of the general premium for the locality compared to Morocco.
