Item Description
Tarnowitzite is the rare lead-rich variety of aragonite, with the very best examples coming from the famed Tsumeb Mine. Lustrous, gemmy to translucent, color-zoned, tapered prisms are studded on the mounded matrix. The prism bodies are gemmy, colorless to light gray and the terminations are strikingly and sharply snow-capped! The crystals reach 2.0 cm and one is doubly terminated. There are a couple of broken crystals in the field and some periphery wear is noted. This remains are very fine and rich example of this rare Tsumeb varietal.
