Aragonite (one-time U.S. find!)

A striking headdress of dense sprays of lustrous, translucent, dogtooth aragonite prisms crowns the sculptural gossan matrix on this rare and excellent two-sided specimen. They have a unique look, with the crystals growing like teeth off of an earlier generation of aragonite. This fine piece is from the one-time find in the mid-2000s, that we brought out. Expertly collected, as the piece is essentially pristine. This was an important new find of aragonite from anywhere, much less the US. Ex Wouter van Tichelen Collection.
