Item Description
A fabulous forest of isolated spikey aragonite "trees" cover the "mesa" matrix on this striking CABINET specimen. This is one of the top examples of the aragonites from this one-time find we bought out a couple of years ago - not only beautiful, but an important new find of aragonite from anywhere, much less America. They have a unique look, with tiny crystals growing like teeth on an earlier generation of sharp, larger crystals. This is not only a large specimen, but the crystals really stick up off the matrix in bold relief, in a series of interconnected bursts of crystals framed by the contrasting iron-rich matrix. The few broken crystals and a bit of periphery wear are a very modest detraction to this stunning, two-sided piece. If you do not have one of these, this one of the best we had, that we held back to offer later! Last year, we were able to buy the remaining pieces from this single pocket from the original miner, so we have all there is of it! The crystal separation makes this a very noteworthy piece.
