Aragonite on Cobaltoan Calcite (new find!)

Soft-looking and sculptural, this multi-hued combination piece is from the cave karsts in Wenshan, Yunnan, China. The Pink Cobaltoan Calcite grades from a rose pink to a soft, light pink, and a hint of that pink offers a slight tint to the Aragonite. The Calcite has excellent luster, with the ultra-fine drusy surface creating an attractive sparkle, almost like pink snow. The Aragonite is amorphous to crystalline, and the combination creates one of the more aesthetic pieces I have seen from there. Purchased in China, direct from the miners!
