Dramatically sculptural large old-time 360-degree combination aragonite on calcite cave specimen from the famous Copper Queen Mine at Bisbee. Clusters of glassy, colorless aragonite spikes or single spikes crown some of the fantastic looking tapered stalactites of bubbly snow-white calcite botryoids. They look like ice cream cones! This stunning combination is essentially pristine, with very few broken or bruised crystals or botryoids. The aragonite fluoresces white. Highly desirable old Bisbee aragonite and calcite, that could easily be over 100 years old. Ex Dennis Mullane Bisbee Collection, with his 1960s to 70s label. The Mullane collection, which we acquired in around 2005, was one of the last of the old era Bisbee collections, and contained some fabulous material. This particular specimen was on loan to the University of Arizona Museum for years.
