Item Description
We have not seen others like this - and from Burma This is a very unusual Aragonite specimen here that hosts several, ivory colored orbs of Aragonite in a Calcite matrix. The elliptical Aragonite orbs look almost polished, but they are not and are distinctly embedded in the granular Calcite matrix. There are three orbs, one larger at 2.6 cm in maximum dimensions and two smaller ones each at 1.5 cm across. The Aragonite ellipses fluoresce a blue-white in UV light. An attractive Burmese oddity. Actually this is a terrific example of a strange calcite oddity called cave pearls, that occur in some mining environments...rare in aesthetic specimens!
