Item Description

This is a beautiful, sculptural and rare specimen from Chile. The surreal sea-green color of the lustrous, crystallized aragonite botryoids is due to atacamite inclusions. A bit of periphery wear is noted, but is minor in the overall context of this rare piece from a very uncommon locality. Ex. Academy of Natural Sciences Philadelphia Collection and obtained by Sam Gordon on his 1938 trip to South America for the Academy. Very rare, unusually beautiful, old-time material.
