Aragonite & Hyalite Opal (both fluorescent) on Calcite (Murphy Coll.)

An amazingly sculptural and adorable two-sided combination from the famous Southwest Mine at Bisbee. A dramatic corsage of sprays of glassy colorless aragonite needles is beautifully perched on a stalk of intergrown melted-look calcite rhombs. Smaller sprays of tinted tan aragonite needles at the base of the corsage add contrast. The aragonite needles fluoresce pink under LW UV and surprisingly, SW UV reveals neon-green hyalite opal patches! A prominent discovery, as even the mine level is known. Outstanding combination material from the Bruce Murphy Arizona Collection.
