Aragonite (ex Jim Robison Collection)

Item Description

A beautifuly cabinet sized display specimen featuring dozens of sharp, GEMMY, rich golden cognac colored prisms of Aragonite forming a "hedgehog"-shaped mound. The piece comes with a label from Fine Minerals Internatiuonal that simply says "P. R. China". An included note from Jim Robison states that it's from Qinlong. I honestly cannot find a similar specimen anywhere, and I have to trust the label from FMI, since they have brought so many Chinese specimens into the country. The piece itself is in amazingly good condition, and in a way reminds me of English Aragonites that I've seen from Cumberland (Cumbria). The color alone makes it special, and would truly help to round out a Chinese mineral suite.
