Item Description

This is a beautiful, colorful and eye-catching specimen of Aragonite from Wenshan, the same locality where the pretty blue Hemimorphites have been found. This piece is from a find in 2022, which was quite limited and only produced a select few pieces of fine quality. Aragonite is not always found in crystallized specimens, and they are typically white or off-white in color. This piece features the most desirable combination of fine crystals along with a beautiful pastel blue color (due to minor copper content in the Aragonite). The crystals have formed an eye-catching "spray" comprising, thin individual bladed crystals, free of matrix. The majority of the Aragonites are in very good shape, save the base where the piece was removed from the pocket wall. Overall, a showy and fine quality example of these gorgeous specimens from Wenshan.
