Highly aesthetic, this is a choice cluster of Aragonite crystals. Splaying out 3-dimensionally in different directions, these sharp, hexagonal Aragonites come together to create a balanced, attractive small cabinet specimen. The largest crystal is 3 cm wide by 2.8 cm tall, and all of the Aragonites have an ultra-fine, drusy surface that make them look as if they were sculpted from freshly-fallen snow. They are even gemmy, as evidenced by the one of the lesser crystals that is missing a termination. I have seen few Aragonites like this from this region. Formerly in the collection of E. Czegka. These pieces are part of a century-old Italian collection that was recently acquired. A true Italian classic, although in unusually aesthetic form.
