Item Description

A classic specimen of the famous Aragonites from the La Pesquera area in Cuenca, Spain featuring prismatic, sharp, lustrous, gemmy, cyclic twinned (pseudo-hexagonal) crystals measuring up to 2.0 cm long, free of matrix. The piece has a reddish-brown hue due to iron oxide inclusions, but the crystals themselves are virtually colorless. There are some contacted areas, so the piece is not pristine, but still a good example of this well-known material from an area where some of the first confirmed Aragonites were ever found.
Ex Les Presmyk / De Natura specimen.
