An exceptional 360-degree aragonite from the classic mines at Lavrion. Striking glassy, translucent, elongated crystals have a pretty hint of blue and dramatically resemble the head of Medusa from Greek mythology. A fascinating 360-degree piece, every turn presents a different perspective. The blue color and glassiness is RARE from here. Complete all-around and nearly pristine, with only one hard-to-see broken crystal noted in the interior. Ex Christos Spiromitros and Wouter van Tichelen collections. Comes with a 29.8 x 21.0 cm glossy photo of the specimen and description. An important and superb Lavrion aragonite, as crystallized aragonite is RARE from this historic locale.
