Item Description

Aragonite specimens from this well-known, historic locale are a Czech classic. This is a textbook, orthorhombic aragonite crystal from Spitzberg, Bilina, Usti Region, Bohemia. Water-clear, the crystal has is a pleasing light amber color, chisel termination and frosted/etched faces. Complete all-around and nearly pristine, one face is partially contacted, but has only trivial bruising. Spitzberg is world-famous for aragonite crystals and this is a good one. Old and choice material from the Howard Belsky Collection. This old-timer undoubtably predates the Soviet-era Belsky label.
