Item Description

A lovely Aragonite specimen from Tsumeb, featuring a multi-"spray" group comprising thin prismatic crystals, sitting atop a layer of forest-green Malachite. When backlit, the Aragonites show a lovely seafoam blue green hue internally. The color is due to minor copper content, but a little bit goes a long way in terms of creating a gorgeous color. Individual crystals are hard to measure, but they are at least up to 3.2 cm long. Although several crystal tips are damaged, the glow from the center of the specimen overcomes any deficiencies. A cool specimen of this now seldom seen material from one of if not the greatest mineral locality in history. From the collection of Colin Manlove.
