Item Description
Bulbous aggregates of orange to brown-orange botryoidal Aragonite on a carbonate matrix. The crystalline radial growth habit can bee seen on the few incomplete botryoids that exist. The large botryoids, up to 2.8 cm, are slightly darker due to their size while the smaller ones exhibit a stronger translucency, a moderately sugary texture and an orange glow to them with lighting. The piece is in excellent condition with very minor bruising and a few incomplete spheres. The distinct undulating form and crevasses give the piece depth and three dimensionality. A seldom seen Aragonite from Peru with a lively orange color. Excellent yellow fluorescence. Ex. Kurt Hefendehl Collection.
