Item Description
A classic Aragonite "floater" from Tazouta, the well-formed, pseudo-hexagonal, twinned crystals of Aragonite radiate 360 degrees in all directions. All have a good, silky luster and the largest crystal is 1.3 x 1.2 cm. Iron oxide tinting along the edges and surfaces create a nice visual contrast that gives the crystals sharp definition and body. Zones of gemminess seem to float within these translucent crystals, creating beckoning regions that almost seem to draw you in the longer you gaze. This miniature is an excellent and aesthetic example of the desirable Tazouta Aragonites. Note the low accession number, only #21000-ish in the collection and one of Erika Pohl's early acquisitions!
