Item Description

Aquilarite is a rare Ag-Se sulfide and this less well-known mine in the famous Guanajuato district is the Type Locality. This very nifty, arborescent thumbnail consists of a myriad of intergrown, skeletal, mostly elongated, pseudocubic, metallic-gray crystals with a moderate patina and some iridescence. There are probably a few acanthite crystals attached. A really fine two-sided example of this rarity from the Bob Trimingham Collection, previously in the Scott Williams Collection. RARE on the market. Any validated specimen of this rarity should be valued at $750-1000.
