Aquamarine with Schorl on Microcline

A gorgeous and highly aesthetic display specimen of the famous Erongo Aquamarine / Schorl associations. The combination of the gorgeous blue Aquas with the contrasting jet-black Schorl Tourmaline is just beautiful. This full sized miniature display specimen features a predominant, doubly-terminated, sharp, very lustrous, gemmy, hexagonal Aquamarine crystal measuring 4.1 cm long which ranges in color from a deep blue to nearly colorless at the ends, which is associated with a handful of attractive black Schorl prisms which are set atop attractive complementing cream colored Microcline, which has actually formed a hollow "cast" after an unknown preexisting mineral. If you look closely, you can see the Schorl crystals shows dramatically different terminations as the larger one has a notably "etched" / semi-skeletal appearance (with a defined trigonal growth pattern like a Mercedes symbol) and one of the smaller Schorls has a very smooth, sharp and lustrous termination. The piece is in superb condition and displays beautifully as you can see from the photos. The piece was priced at $900 in the inventory and really stands out as a fine quality, aesthetic specimen from this well-known specimen producing locality.
