Aquamarine with Schorl and Feldspar

Combinations such as this fine cabinet-specimen are absolutely classic for the famous Erongo Region in Namibia. Well-formed, powder-blue Aquamarines to 2.8 cm are nestled among partially etched Schorl crystals to 3.7 cm. As the Aquas rise above the black Schorls, the contrast allows you to appreciate just how attractive and sharp the Aquas are. All rest on Feldspar crystals that range up to 8.0 cm. The excellent red-orange fluorescence of the Feldspar lends itself to the idea that the crystals are Orthoclase or possibly Albite, a common question for these specimens. The aesthetics of this classic association are quite good, and you simply do not see as many of these available as even a decade ago.
