Item Description
When it comes to Aquamarine, Pakistan is the most productive country for specimens in the modern age of mineral collecting. Some of the very finest quality Aquamarine specimens come from the various pegmatites in the Pakistani Himalayas, especially in the Shigar Valley. This piece hosts a fair quality, 1.4 cm., gemmy, sharp, soft blue color Aquamarine crystal, aesthetically sitting on pearly "curved" crystals of Albite with some soft smoky color crystals of Quartz and groups of silvery-gold bladed Muscovite. Most of the rest of specimen is coated in micro mica I believe. People do not appreciate matrix Aquamarines from Pakistan like they should, especially since there are almost no other world localities that produce matrix display specimens for Aqua like Pakistan!
