Item Description
The Pingwu Mine is not only one of the most distinctive specimen producers in China, but it is one of the most unique localities in the world in terms of the interesting associations along with the noteworthy size and quality of the specimens found. The unique Beryl crystals from this mine are as recognizable as anything in the world, and they are a certainly a favorite among collectors and dealers alike. This showy, three-dimensional small cabinet display specimen features a 5.3 cm, very lustrous, sharp, broad, thick, tabular, soft blue color, gemmy hexagonal Aquamarine crystal with several smaller Aquas of equal quality and a minor amount of bladed silvery Muscovite on the underside of the piece. It's very important to note that tabular Aquamarine crystals are rare, so when you find such superb crystals like this, it's even more exciting. HARD TO PHOTOGRAPH, and BETTER IN PERSON. The only real damage I can see is on the base / underside of the piece where it was removed from the pocket wall Valued at $4,000. Ex Dr. Stephen Smale Collection.
